Michele Smith and David Chapel are living the classic wine-making dream. After meeting in Beaujolais, France while Michele was on vacation and David was working at Lapierre, they eventually moved back to begin their own endeavor as vignerons. Their first vintage, 2016 Julienas Côte de Bessay, was vinified a Lapierre while they continued searching for the perfect home and cellars of their dreams. That dream came true in 2017 when they found a family home and cellars in Régnié-Durette. Soon after that, they were off to a running start with a new vintage—a Beaujolais Villages from organically farmed vineyards near Lantignié. Michele and David's passion for winemaking is nothing short of inspirational.
