American Wine
A Little ABOUT American Wine
American wine history is an interesting story of growth and appreciation over the centuries. Starting with what some consider to be the first vineyard in America, established by French explorers in 1562, it was largely unseen for hundreds of years until the current day when viticulture is celebrated throughout the country. Experiments have taken place over recent decades that have produced unique varietals each boasting its own individual character and terroir. American wine has found its footing in the global wine industry as other countries now recognize its sophistication and quality. Its recognition has put it on an even playing field with Longstanding established countries such as France, Italy, Spain, Germany - just to name a few – which are integral parts of what makes up modern-day world culture today.
