2018 Domaine du Pelican Arbois Poulsard

What it is:

100% Poulsard from the Jura region of France. The domaine is owned by Guillaume d'Angerville of Marquis d'Angerville fame in Volnay. Aged in large neutral oak for 12 months.

Why we like it:

Domaine du Pelican was born from a Sommelier in Paris pouring a wine blind for Guillaume. Guillaume was poured a glass of wine from Jura and he couldn't believe the quality. He quickly began a search for a Domaine in Jura and slowly built a small selection of vineyards. The wines showcase the beauty and purity of Jura, this local grape variety is elegant, fresh and crunchy. Marquis d'Angerville is known for its beautiful Volnay wines that jump out of the glass. This Poulsard is equally expressive and pulls you into the glass. Definitely age worthy but lovely on a warm summer night when you need a light red.
